How do we treat the personal data we obtain about you when you subscribe to media releases? As soon as you have confirmed your application for the electronic delivery of media releases, your data will be stored on the secure server of our third-party provider. This data is protected at all times and is used solely in connection with e-mail activities undertaken by our own company. It is not forwarded to third parties. Panalpina updates the data from your profile with the information in its own general address database.
How does Panalpina use the activity-tracking data it obtains during its e-mail distribution? Like many other companies, Panalpina has a system with various functions for evaluating user statistics, which it then uses when distributing media releases via e-mail.
This simply involves recording click patterns when you access your personal e-mail for the purpose of optimizing the structure and contents of the media release, and thereby helping to meet the information requirements of all recipients. The system also ascertains whether HTML mail is opened. The timing of any such opening is recorded on a purely anonymous basis and is not stored under your profile. No further tracking is performed. In other words, we do not record any further activities once you may have clicked in a media release.
Consequently, no information is gathered about your technical set-up (IP address, computer type, browser version or other hardware or software features).
