Toshiba awarded Panalpina overland transport from Germany to Moscow

Toshiba has selected Panalpina to handle its overland business ex Regensburg, Germany, location of one of its European distribution centers, to Moscow beginning in January 2011.

The agreement covers international trucking and customs clearance as well as local cross-docking and distribution services. The initial freight volume is approximately 200 trucks ex. Regensburg, Germany with cross-docking activities for 11’000 pallets including local distribution to more than ten locations within Russia.

Panalpina’s extensive experience transporting hi-tech cargo and its ability to offer Toshiba important value-added services will be key to the future development of collaborative end-to-end logistics solutions. Panalpina is building on its successful cooperation between Toshiba Europe and Panalpina Nuremberg. For the past three years, Panalpina has been managing total warehouse operations and kitting and packing operations for this product group for Toshiba in Dubai to supply Toshiba customers in the Middle East and African regions.
